Beyond Thankful

Though the start of the month was challenging, God was there on all those days.

Being in a difficult situation puts one in discomfort, and more often than not, the most common response would be griping or getting upset. Who would not if there is a legitimate reason to do so. This pandemic has given us a lot of reasons to doubt, worry, and fear. It gets so overwhelming that we only see the loose end rather than the gain beyond the bounds. There is a battle between the mind and the spirit about whether to fret or give thanks.  However, Paul wrote in

1 Thessalonians 5:18, "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Yes, we may face trials of all kinds and sizes, but the promises He has for us remain. Surely, God allows trials so we can be thankful and be reminded of His sovereignty over our lives. We so often forget that God is in control. As a matter of fact, thankfulness should not only happen after a breakthrough. It doesn't even need a miracle, healing, or victory. You don't need to wait for a special day to be thankful. A driving force is not required for one to be able to express thankfulness because it is His will for us. It is a manifestation of our confidence in Him and the representation of our obedience to Him.

Basically, having a grateful heart, makes you position yourself for His abundance. No matter what things are happening in your life, give all your thanks to the Lord. His grace is abundant, His love for you lasts forever, and He gives new life to everyone who trusts in His Son.
